I FINALLY got to spend a whole day in my new STAMPIN CAVE yesterday. My creative little brain just exploded all over the place, all those ideas I been saving while painting, all came flying out. and made a great big mess all over those 4 wonderful tables.
More room - more mess. Now, I have to figure out how to control this imagination long enough to finish these projects, it's tough, let me tell you.
Ok, so I had this image I was trying to create, and I just could not get it, after about 4 sheets of card stock, a little light went on....couple of years ago, I saw on a blog, a wonderfully talented lady who works for another company who creates embossing folders, had the same problem and she solved it. SO I did the same thing.
I wacked my embossing folder.
YES I DID>
I wanted to emboss down the left side of a card, and across the top of another.
Hey, I know where to get another one, no big deal (I'm my own best customer, LOL),
and I can't begin to tell you how well this worked.
Actually I can begin to tell you, cause I took pictures all the way through (lucky you guys ey?) .
You need to score your card, then open it, lay this down next to the fold and run it through MR. BIG> and this is what happens.
A nice little understated boarder design.
BUT WAIT - THERE'S MORE
GUESS WHAT ELSE FITS IN THIS LITTLE BABY?
Yep, get out that Ornament Punch you ordered from the holiday mini, lay it inside your beautiful NEW EMBOSSING BOARDER FROM STAMPIN UP.....and send it on through MR BIG>
Isn't it pretty. Looks so Victorian to me. (oh oh, another idea just came in).... Poor Jack, his walk is getting shorter and shorter as these ideas pop in. Or, maybe we could run the walk today,,,,,,oops, sorry, back to task.
Anyway, this little science project uncovered something else. I used our Shimmery Card stock for this (page 159). It is a little thicker than our regular card stock because of the shimmery finish, well, it embosses beautifully, nice and deep, and oh laalaa,,,,, the shimmer - absolutely stunning.
I added a little color with my sponge Dauber
and here we go, one finished card.
I think I see a Christmas Card Class starting here.......
BUT WAIT, THERE'S EVEN MORE
Look what else fits inside the Ornament Punch, our pretty christmas birdy from the Level One Hostess Set HOLIDAY BEST (page 13)
Ok, that is my show and tell for today.

Come on back tomorrow, I made more samples, this time, Red and Green and I snuck in another stamp set. Aren't you glad I'm finished painting???? I sure am.
thanks for stopping in, hope you find time today to get inky fingers.

OMG!! I got a little woozy when I saw the embossing folder in two pieces -- I mean, aren't there RULES against such violence??
Seriously, though, how cool is this!! I'm eyeing my scissors and embossing folders... don't know if I can get up the nerve quite yet... but I really DO love the look of the embossed border!

Great idea, Sandi! How did you get a clean, defined line on the cs? The folder is scalloped, so I would have thought that pattern would have emerged.
Thanks for sharing!

NICE! You are sooooooo funny about whacking that embossing folder! I absolutely LOVE the effect and thank you so much for sharing. I will have to whack or cut mine when hubby isn't around - it would give him a heart attack! *Whacking Hugs*

Great idea, Sandi! I have some edge folders from another company, too, but just like Connie, it never dawned on me to make my own out of our folders. If only my budget were as unlimited as your imagination!
