Howdy, Happy monday to you. I've been playing!.... Over at www.splitcoaststampers.com under challenges, look for TLC208 - Round Top Box. You can upload the box template, which I did, then sat and looked at it trying to figure out what I wanted to create. Here is what I came up with, and here is the template for the head.
"Click here to download this template"
I made both the boxes from one 12x12 sheet of Kiwi Kiss
Using Pretty in Pink as my mat color, I used scrap from Raspberry Tart DSP on page 160 of your catalog, and decorated each side of the box. My measurements came out to.
front and back - Pretty in Pink = 3-1/8 x 1-7/8
sides - Pretty in Pink = 1-1/2 x 1-7/8
front and back - Raspberry Tart 3 x 1-3/4
sides - Raspberry Tart 1-3/8 x 1-3/4
Their cute little noses are the heart punch
Inside of ears are the small oval punch
Circle punches for the sentiments from "All Holidays", are 1-1/4, 1-3/8 and 1-1/2
Ribbon, Pretty in Pink Taffeta for the Mrs.
Sale-a-bration Ribbon Bundle - Certainly Celery for Mr.
For Mr, we added a designer brad with a green Rhinestone Circle Ice Centre, some more ribbon folded under the punched circles, and added to the box with dimensionals.
For Mrs, I cut out some flowers from the Raspberry Tart DSP, attached one between her ears before adding her ribbon, 3 small ones were added to the box, one on the sentiment circles and 2 on the box. On the sentiment circle, I used the horizontal slot punch on either side and ran the ribbon through. I also added some snail adhesive to the ribbon to keep it where I wanted it, and another bow on the sentiment.
Wiskers, a scrap of Whisper White run through the cutter, slicing 5 skinny pieces. Tape these to the back of the nose, fanned out a little, then add a dimensional.
Eyes are black brads.
for the "Easter Grass" inside the basket for the eggs to sit in, I ran a scrap of Kiwi Kiss through my crimper, then sliced it skinny again, then I scrunched it up.
I had a blast making these, sure hope you do too. Hardly any stamping, but a great project for Easter. I know I will be making more of these little guys. Don't forget to upload your box to the Splitcoast gallery to share with the rest of us.
I won't be back for a few days as I am working on the March tutorial. The technique for this one is watercolor using our WONDERFUL WATERCOLOR CRAYONS AND AQUA PAINTER. You can still obtain the February tutorial at the right of this post. That one features the pastel technique and all the measurements etc. to design 3 beautiful cards, for my new low price of $5.00. Thank you to all who have purchased this tutorial and your great e-mails. I'm so flattered your having so much fun with it and I really appreciate all your kind words of encouragement, THANK YOU.
Remember, you can sign up on the top right of my blog to receive a notification when I upload a new post. That way you won't miss any projects.
thanks again, and have a great week of stamping.
