Howdy stampers, happy Friday, you know what that means.

10 MINUTES OR LESS CARDS WITH CAROLE'ANNE AND SANDI

This week, we have a color challenge

I cut this picture out of the newspaper this past weekend, an ad for rugs and wall art, I thought the top one was pretty cool, all in circles,,,,,gave me a little idea!

Out came the CIRCLE CIRCUS stamp set

First we have to set up Mr. Nasty.....

Oh yes, he has another little message for Madame Vilaine!

My  Darling - my heart is yours!

My goodness, they are getting so mooshy- A new side to Mr. Nasty I have not seen before!

Ok, back to the task at hand....

and might I remind you - you promised I would win this week!.

so, I took 5 of the circles that I know fit into our round punches,

the scalloped circle

1-3/4 circle

1-1/4 circle

1 inch circle

3/4 inch circle.

I embossed them all with Black Embossing powder and Heat set them, then punched them out.

My card is 5 x 10 in Bermuda Bay, scored and folded at 5

on top is a piece of Kraft, 4-3/4 square, and I used the scalloped edge punch on it

and you would know that, if I had not cut it out of the picture - sorry!

and that took half my time.

I added a sentiment from Fundamental Phrases

ah,,,there are the scallops, and now you get a peek a boo of

my top piece, which is 4-1/2 x 4-1/4 Crushed Curry,

I embossed it with the Big Shot and a Texturz Plate,

after I brayered some Crushed curry ink on the plate.

and I hurried so much - I forgot to take a picture of that...

(it's the cold - dead brain cells, I tell you), tee hee.

oh yah, and there is 16 inches of the 1/2 inch Polka dot Grosgrain Ribbon, also in Bermuda Bay and yep, I cut that out of the picture too.....what a week!.

Here is Mr. Nasty one more time, and this is to the GOOD side,

he did let me win today...whoo hooo.

here is the front of my card, I layered some of the circles, and the layered ones also have dimensionals behind them to raise them up and add depth to the card.

and after I was finished, I went back and added a little bling to the inside.

and here is little Miss Lucy, laying on the bed, minding her own business, helping me stamp.

and ZOOM - here she is getting run over by Oscar the Terrible,

followed closely (and also cut out of the picture), by Jack.

they are having so much fun playing these days.

I'm so sorry for so many bad pictures today, I'll do better.

Oh yah, guess what else we did today?  CUT THE GRASS, Weeded a couple of flower gardens and even moved some plants around.  Beautiful sunny day, above 60......we went out and enjoyed it.  The kids were just zoomies in the back yard, running under and around everything......crazy!....

WHAT WERE WE THINKING????? CAROLE'ANNE & SANDI'S 10 MINUTE CHALLENGE.

Hi Welcome Back.  It's Friday and that means it's 10 minute challenge day.

Here is the sketch that my oh so talented Partner in Crime CAROLANNE created.

and she had this great idea -" LETS DO A SCRAP PAGE SHE SAID"

"GREAT I SAID" WHAT A GOOD IDEA, we have not done one. 

(yah, what's that saying - be careful what you wish for?) 

I set up Mr. Nasty, who, judging by the temp. has been visiting his friends down under (No, I mean, really down under - I think he has relatives down there you know!).

and I just bet you can't guess who I decided to start a scrap book of!

Notice that Lucy's tongue won out on the cut, and Ian's eye's lost!  LOL.

and did you notice another cool reason to be working on Stampin Up Graph paper, nice and square!

You NEED graph paper my friends.

wow, just cutting paper takes time, goodness me.

Because we got the babies for Christmas, I decided to do a snowflake theme 

I did my background piece, then I used a piece left over from one of the Holiday mini sets. 

There is a shortage of Christmas paper around here - that means I planned well for a change right!

oh goodness, you should hear him, he is humming, for a good reason I guess,

I ran around the table and quickly cut out some letters with my Mr. Big!

and tripped over a dog on the way back.

Ok, so this is not 23 seconds left, this is 23 seconds to the dark side, and the buzzer is a blazin, he is a humming, and LUCY is a howling, you should see the look on Jack's face, he is not happy.  Oscar, well, Oscar slept through all this!.

got my letters organized, I decided to let Mr. Nasty have his day, and just let him run, mostly because I was quite curious just how long this was going to take.

and now we know.  21 excruciating minutes and 43 long seconds before I could turn him off.

WHAT WHERE WE THINKING?

CAROLE'ANNE & SANDI'S 10 MINUTE OR LESS CARD-BRANCHING OUT & THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

Hello my friends and welcome back.  Today is 10 minute card day and I combined it with day 4 of the 12 days of Christmas.  Unfortunately, it will be my last "days of Christmas".  Seems I have offended a few with my sense of humor concerning this song, so I'm just going to stop here.  Please do not post a comment concerning your opinion in this matter.  This blog is about ART and STAMPING and NOTHING ELSE. Feel free to post all the comments you like concerning ART and/or STAMPING.

I set up Mr. Nasty

 

Here is the sketch that our oh so talented Carole'Anne created with "My Digital Studio".

For the art piece background I used the new punch again SCALLOP TRIM BOARDER!  Aren't you going to be glad when Jan 5th gets here and you can earn one of these through Sale-a-bration for FREE and play too.

This piece is 2-3/4 x 4-1/2 in Rich Razzleberry

The mat is 2-5/8 x 3-7/8 in Bermuda Bay

The art piece is 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 in Whisper White

I stamped the tree, then used my stamp position to place the birds.

the stamp set is BRANCH OUT - on the retired list just in case you didn't know that yet!, LOL

(are you tired of this stamp set? - tee hee - I promise I will clean it and put it away today).

I stamped the tree again on the card face for some background noise.

Mr. Nasty is humming along - we are looking good today my friends.

I attached all the art piece layers, then placed on my card to figure

where to cut the spine of the card for the ribbon.

I used my Stamp-n-Write Marker in Bermuda Bay to color

the one word I wanted from this stamp - it is from the ALL HOLIDAYS STAMP SET

I used the Large Oval Punch for the word, and the Scalloped oval for the background.

I don't have brads in Rich Razzleberry, so I put some Lovely Lilac ones through my card

colored them with my Stamp-n-write Marker and covered that with Crystal Effects.

Worked really well. (once it was dry - which was about 1/2 hour - yah, just stick your finger in there and see, LOL).

and here is the finished card.  The 4 Calling Birds.

and Mr. Nasty won't be singing any songs today, tons of time to spare.

I was fooling around with some sponging yesterday too and created another similar card.

This one is done in Not Quite Navy and Elegant Eggplant.  I white embossed the tree in the background.

Embossed the tree on the art piece, then sponged on the color, added the birds after it was dry.

OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG SNEAK PEEKS & 10 MINUTE OR LESS CARD

As a child, when I got quiet in the other room, my mom got very nervous and would ask "what are you doing in there?"  "Nothing", was always my response!....now I think you know by now - that was probably not true!....sorry I have been quiet - what have I been up to?  NOTHING......lies, lies, lies.

I'm taking a course and the homework bogged me down, mostly because of technical difficulties, which I finally figured out yesterday.

There is a new catalog on it's way to you all my CYBER STAMP CLUB FRIENDS and ordering starts Jan 5/2010.

As a Demonstrator, one of the perks is we get to order early so we can play and create and get samples ready for our classes.

I'm going to use some of these goodies today for my 10 minute or less card with my buddy Carole'Anne, but for the next week, I'm going to open this box and share with you all the new goodies inside.  If you don't want to miss a post, sign up to subscribe to my blog (top left corner), that way, when I post, it will pop right into your e-mail - now how cool is that, then you can ask "what is she doing in there?",,,,,NOTHING!

My oh so talented buddy up there in Alberta - Carole'Anne - created this sketch 

using the MY DIGITAL STUDIO disk we sell....She is so talented at doing this.  I need to take the cello wrap off mine and get it loaded...right after I knock the dust off it!, lol.

Mr. Nasty is set - DO you like his scarf?  Secret - NEW RIBBON - 9 new colors of the 5/8 Satin Ribbon.

****I'm going to conduct a ribbon share where you will get 2 yards of each color.  If you're interested in joining, e-mail me.*****  Order is going in on the morning of January 5th - I need you signed up by the 4th please so I can do the math.....

See anything NEW?   - new Designer paper SWEET PEA - and it is SWEET! -  it is a PAD of 12 x 12 - 2 sheets of 24 double-sided designs....OMGosh, I bought fell over, I LOVE each and every sheet.

I used my BIG SHOT with Circles, Scallop #2 and Circles #2 for my main elements

I used my Big Shot and cut out some buttons with my Sizzlits Die, Buttons #5

and I paper pierced around the outside, then again a little farther in and I used a needle and embroidery floss and I stitched around it. DASHER STAMP & CAROLE'ANNE & SANDI'S 10 MINUTES OR LESS CHALLENGE

Happy Thursday, hope your week is going well.  Been stamping and cutting up a storm around here with 3 classes this week and sneaking in all my design team and challenges too...and today is no exception my friends, today is 10 minutes or less challenge with my buddy Carole'Anne.

Here is the sketch she whipped up with Stampin Up's My Digital Studio

and here is what my warped little brain came up with - there was a method to my madness, LOL.

 

I created the item on the right, and it is a Tin.  So this also fits with the Stampin Up Late Night Stampers challenge this week and because I combined it with my design team challenge from yesterday over at the Diva Blog, I have another gift set - You can never have to many of these over the holidays now can you.

Ok, so here is what happened.

 

the tin is an interesting shape, Our Corner Rounder punch doesn't cut it, so what I did was I traced the top and bottom on the back of the Designer Paper that I wanted to use.  I did it here on plain cardstock so you would understand what I was talking about.  When you cut it out, cut inside the pencil line.

I added snail adhesive to the tin and laid on the DSP

Mr. Nasty was turned on at the start of this.  Now, those girls over at LNS were giving me a bad time the other day.  They pointed out the temp. in the bottom right corner and suggested I was really under stress doing these, because it was 191 degrees over here and I should be sweatin by buns off.  HAH>  I wish,,,,,no weight loss to report.  But here is what is funny, I was thinking about that comment as I started today.  I always work with the stereo on and tuned to an old rock and roll station.  Well, if MEATLOAF - DASHBOARD LIGHTS doesn't start playing - you know - IT'S A PRESSURE COOKER IN HERE...oh, I know, the rest of that song doesn't fit anywhere in here, but the beat, the comment and the situation, was I was laughing my butt off instead.

Ok, back to my project

I used the same embossed image and size circles as yesterday.

ok, you can call that cheating if you like, I call it being resourceful!LOL

attach 24 inches of the same 5/8 Satin Ribbon as yesterday.

Notice I used stripped paper instead of having to use more time cutting a strip for down the right side!

Now, my metal edges of my tin are showing - hey this is a 10 minute project, I don't have time to cover them.

So, I decided to use it as a design element and got out my package of Metal Edge Tags

I borrowed snowflake stamps from a couple of other sets and stamped them on white

punched them out and adhered them to the metal tags.

Here is a little known fact.

Our 1-3/4 inch Circle punch - punches a circle to fit inside the large tag.

our 1-1/4 inch Circle punch, punches a circle to fit inside the small tag.

and I used the 3/4 inch Circle punch to punch out the snowflake....

Now that really speeds things up for me

 

Good thing - look what Mr. Nasty is doing to me again!

Next I attached Dasher and the small tag with Dimensionals, the other is flat.

I had a left over image from yesterday for the "merry christmas", so I quickly cut that out and attached with my glue stick.

oh, I still have some time.

ANIMAL CRACKERS STAMP SET - 10 MINUTE OR LESS CARDS

Hi Stampers.  It's BUILD A CARD IN 10 MINUTES or less with my buddy Carole'anne and it was her turn to pick the theme.  She decided on Cute because she felt she was not that good at those cards - wow - me either.

Well, Nothing like a good cause to bring you to the table.  This weekend, Saturday and Sunday 10-4 each day, I am hosting a drop in CARDS FOR THE KIDS and have invited everyone I know (and some I don't yet), to come and help me build cards for the sick kids at the Ronald McDonald Houses.  My goal 100 cards.  I had stamping friends who fanned out my request last week and I have had an amazing response from all over the country of people offering to mail cards, which is AWESOME.  And, if you happen to live in the Portland/Milwaukie area and have an hour or two to spare this weekend - come on over - fall in the door and introduce yourself.  Love to have you. 

Ok, so I am donating all the supplies so I had to design cards, order supplies and starting tomorrow, madly get the kits cut - that would be why my post is a little early.

All of the cards take 10 minutes or less to create, they use a variety of Designer paper because I just opened all the drawers and started looking for bright happy paper.  I used the Stamp set ANIMAL CRACKERS on page 62.  I liked the cute sayings and though the kids would relate.

Here is the little bunny and I used our Elegant Bouquet embossing folder (it survived the WHACKING so far) and my Cherry Blossom Embosslets Die for the cut out and embossed flowers (both on page 195)

 

Next, the cute little squirrel, he's nuts about you!

I used my circle cutter for the two layers

and some 5/8 inch Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon

that cute little bunny again all in Pink and pretty yellow. 

I use my 1-3/4 circle punch to punch out the bunny and this circle fits perfectly inside our large metal edged tags (pg 181).

the hearts are also punched with  the heart to heart punch (page 187),

and the eyelet board punch

and some ribbon from the Elementary set (page 182)

Then, the darling little Giraffe who wants you to Reach for the Stars...

The big and small star punches (page 187)

AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE, (i love this little duck)

YOU QUACK ME UP

My warped humor added to this design, free of charge!

I used the Wide Oval punch to punch out the little duck, then I just cut it with my scissors like a crack.
